How do our Event Photographers operate?


INDOOR EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY:

Our event services can be tailored to the needs of your particular event or occasion.

At indoor events, we can operate in a variety of ways, some examples include:
 

 
  • Dedicated Mobile Photographic Studio (s) - This generally involves studio lighting, backdrop, computer and printing equipment. Our photographers capture photographs where subjects either review the image either on a monitor or the camera being used by our photographer.

  • Roaming Photography - We capture candid and less formal photographs outside of the dedicated studio at the event. Other roaming photography could include table photographs, dance floor photographs and images of the entertainment. For corporate events, we can take photographs of any stage show activities, as well as, formal and informal presentations and awards.

  • Onsite printing (prints available for guests at the event) - At most of the events we cover, we offer guests the facility to take home a 7"x 5" photograph (in a mount) from the event. We have found that this approach has been welcomed at most types of indoor events as it not only adds to the event experience it gives an immediate memento for guests to cherish.

  • Image capture and Sales over the Internet - We have found that most of our customers want to be able to take home a print from an event as well as see other images after the event via our dedicated web site. This gives visitors the chance to view thumbnails and larger web images from an event, send free e-cards (direct link to an image, sent via email) to friends and family, save favourite images from an event to view together and purchase both prints and photographic merchandise (items other than prints with an image on them).

  • Image Capture and Postal Delivery - Some event organisers may prefer this service for events, where their guests receive their chosen image through the post after the event. This option is likely to be preferred if advanced orders for larger prints are offered for purchase at an event (as opposed to over our web site).

 


OUTDOOR EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY:

At outdoor events, again we tailor our services to meet the needs of the event and the aims set by the organiser. Typical ways in which we have traditionally approached covering outdoor events include:
 

 
  • Action and Sports Photography - Most of the outdoor events we cover are either action and sports related. Our action and sports photographers use professional SLR cameras and zoom lenses to capture images that none of the guests at such events can capture with pocket cameras. Our outdoor event photographers are trained to capture subjects in action whether on the edge or in the middle of the area where all the action is taking place.

  • Posed Photographs - We also take individual posed, teams and awards / presentation photographs. In addition to action images, we also try and capture candid and photos which provide an overview of the event.

  • Image Display and Presentation - We have dedicated sales areas where we display images that our photographers have captured and downloaded. This is in the form of display sheets with thumbnail images and presentations on large monitors/screens. Guests are urged to identify the images they are interested in potentially purchasing, record their ID numbers and view them on large monitors with one of our sales assistants.

  • Image Manipulation at Events - We try to deliver what the customer wants. However, event photography being what it is, there is only so much time available to manipulate images we capture at a particular event. We have found some customers may want a slightly different versions of an image captured at an event. We do offer some image enhancement and in addition to colour prints, guests may buy Sepia and Black & White photographs. Our image enhancement services at events are constantly being reviewed and updated, to find out more about this, please ask when you enquire about our availability for your event.

  • Onsite printing (prints available for guests at the event) - At most of the outdoor events we cover, we offer guests the facility to take home a 7"x 5" photograph (in a mount) from the event.   • Image Upload Internet and On-line Sales - Whilst we have covered events where our photo printers have not been required, all images, in agreement with the event organiser, are uploaded to our web site. Our ecommerce facility provides visitors with the opportunity to view thumbnails and larger web images from an event, send free e-cards (direct link to an image, sent via email) to friends and family, save favourite images from an event to view together and purchase both prints and photographic merchandise (items other than prints with an image on them). We do not process credit card or debit cards on our web site. We use PayPal for our debit and credit card processing as it is one of the most secure payment systems on the market and allows customers to also use their own PayPal account to pay. 

 


Our Fees

Our charges depends an event organiser's exact event requirements. If your event is large enough and of a nature that we feel we make enough profit, we will attend that event for FREE.

We operate with a variety of options/business models for event organisers:

 
  • No attendance Fee (FREE)- This is where we do not charge an attendance fee and take the risk of not knowing how many people are likely to want to purchase prints at the event. Our prices for prints available on the night are linked to the factors which influence our success. Such factors include:  
 
 
  • How many people attend the event.
  • How event organisers promote our presence prior to and at an event.
  • How event organisers promote images from the event will be published.
  • Where we set up our equipment (Sales station / mobile studio etc.) at the event.
  • How we work with other organisations supplying services at the event e.g. Audio / Visual organisations etc. 
 
 
  • Subsidised Print Fee - Some event organisers have approached us in the past to reduce the price of prints available at an event. They have done this via a pre negotiated fee that considers how many people are attending the event and how many prints we think we can sell.
 
 
  • Ticket Price (inclusive of a photograph) - This is where event organisers create a "package" and a ticket price that includes a printed photograph (an All Inclusive Price). So attendees of an event, normally through collection of their entrance tickets (or tear off slip), can have their photograph taken and are issued with what can be pitched as a "Free" photograph on the night. In reality, the price of the photograph is negotiated at a lower rate (than our normal prices for prints at events), as we receive a revenue contribution from each ticket sold.
 
 
  • Total Event Photography Sponsorship - Major corporate organisations often prefer to reward employees by sponsoring our services for the whole of an event in its entirety. This includes attending at event, taking photographs, providing prints to guests and potentially supplying web versions of images for their web site or Intranet.

Prices of Photographs and Photographic Merchandise

Our prices for prints as explained above vary according to how we operate at an event, how many people attend the event, the nature/type of event and its attendees. We generally only offer 7" x 5" photographs in mounts at events. Photograph prices are also influenced by any linked sponsorship which is associated with that particular event. In some circumstances, our prices are also influenced by any commission rates which may have been agreed by an event organiser. Our prices for photographs and photographic merchandise that are purchased via our web site vary according to the size of photograph or the individual merchandise being ordered.

We predominantly offer our services in South Yorkshire (S Yorks), West Yorkshire (W Yorks), East Yorkshire (E Yorks) and North Yorkshire (N Yorks), Derbyshire (Derbys), Nottinghamshire (Notts) and Lincolnshire (Lincs) areas.
